Attracting High Website Traffic Requires Consistency

When operating a website, it is imperative that you have a frequent and regular pattern of uploading new data or posting new updates. Whether it is daily or weekly, consistency must be maintained so that readers know when to visit to check out your latest information. But that is just one aspect of the consistency your website requires.

You need to also maintain a consistent pattern on keyword use. The consistent mention of these keywords is what will aid the search engines to elevate your site above the potentially numerous other sites targeting the same keywords. If your site is constantly among the first that appear in when a particular keyword is looked for on the web, that alone increases the likelihood of more visitors to your site since becomes the most visible reference point.

Consistency is also key in your choice of URLs. The format you settle on should be consistent with those of the links within your website. This helps you maximise on the number of sites that can be re-directed to your site and vice versa. It also helps to have a page format that is compatible to most websites and browsers.

Or to have an option to convert the page from one format to another (e.g. basic html or flash enabled webpage) depending on the speed of users internet connection or the browser they use. There are many websites that have less traffic than they should simply because first time visitors to those sites had an unpleasant experience due to compatibility issues.

Have a consistent approach in the placement of pictures and multimedia content. Carefully choose the size of the images as well as the particular location on your page. Go for compressed image formats such as JPEG and GIF – avoid placing images that have a bitmap (BMP) format. BMP images will make it difficult for your web pages to load. Also too many images or poor choice of graphics can confuse your visitors and make it difficult for them to tell apart actual content from adverts. It is okay to use templates, but try and customise them a little to make your site stand out from the rest.

Consistently post articles to a reputable article directory sticking to a schedule such as daily or weekly posts. Place a link in the resource box to point interested readers to your website or blog. If you do this regularly, you will see an increase in traffic to your site at minimal cost and effort.

Have timeless content on your website or blog. This is content that never goes out of style since it is always relevant. Such content is perfect for attracting traffic because it will be useful to the reader and appear on search engines for a long time. An example of this evergreen content is a blog on How to clean a refrigerator or how to format a hard drive.
